Apache Tears are a variety of Obsidian, a glassy volcanic rock found in the Southwest of the United States, mostly around Superior, Arizona.
They are called after a terrible story of an Apache tribe living in a high cliff caught off guard by the US Cavalry. The warriors were forced to tumble to their deaths over the precipice of the cliff, choosing death by fall rather than be killed by the white men. Legend says the tribe's women cried so hard for an entire moon cycle that their dark tears of grief solidified into the droplet-shaped stones that you see today.
Why we love them:
It is said that those who have an Apache Tear as a crystal ally will never cry again because the Apache women cried enough for the one who holds the stone. Carry an Apache Tear in your pocket for protection in seedy places to protect you from all types of negative energies, including psychic attacks. The Apache Tear will help to remove and transmute these energies, and clear the way for more positive vibrations.
They help ground your spiritual experiences into the physical, helping you to integrate your experiences and lessons into your everyday life. They are sometimes used to calm muscle spasms, detoxification of the body, absorb vitamins, and help enhance your immune system. These beautiful stones are more than just volcanic glass; they are a living legend, resonating to a strong form of love, and a powerful healing stone enhanced by the prayers of the people that lived there.
